Just confirm its a LEXUS SC300 Haven't seen the motor yet ... But it has a HUGE intercooler in the front... I can almost bet its a 2JZ motor.. its very common in those body style...

Now thats my kind of muscle power there. Never been a fan of domestic motors in import cars mainly because you end up with a trailer queen. But putting a Japanese motor in a domestic car like a mustang or camaro does alot for the weight split on the car. Improving the cars overall ability to handle better that before.

LOL it not a secret to me... Been there done that... just by the sound of the engine I can tell if it a 7m or 1jz or 2jz..... I know it not a 7mgte.... Most common is 1 or 2 jz mostly 2jz same chasis an MK4 supra's... Even down to the rear end is a direct boltin .... So I been there many times....

The SC300 isn't a 2jz..yes its turbo'd..actually your basic turbo set up he bought the car for 8,000with out the engine..ordered an engine and swapped it in...engine looks pretty clean minus some oil spots on the block and head....pulled behind him as he was leaving Quility Groc. turbo needs to rebuild..bad smoking from exhaust when he gets on it. Other than that car looks really good..but if I was going thru all that trouble I would have gone IS300 or altezza(if you can get one from japan) and 2jz set up and tear up most cars on the street....:cool:

SC300 is more common an better for 1 or 2jz swap... Thats why its common... SC300 has the same chasis as a MK4 which is the twin turbo supra... SC300 come 1jzTwinTurbo factory in japan which is called a (SOARER) If you look rite under the rear spoiler you will see the LOGO say SOARER.... Every thing is a direct bolt in includeing the 6speed tranny an complete rear.... Its not alot of trouble because those lexus come with 2jz engine from factory NONE TURBO in USA... Yes its a 1jz lexus down hear,I saw it couple day ago personally....

As for the smoke,He started the car up for me but it didn't smoke... maybe only when he get on it, it smoke.. but the way a turbo work when its bad is... AT idle it smoke but under load it clear up... maybe the car is ah lil rich but i'm not sure.... gotta see it in action b4 i can really say...

I too noticed no smoking during idle..yeah its a 1jz not 2 still a good motor...it does smoke though when he gets on it..whether its running rich or not theres no real way to tell other than to tune it I guess or have him let some one touch it...I still think the 2jz IS300 conversion would be mind blowing either way.

Dont get me wrong 2jz is a really good motor WHICH are breaking records out there... But the latest swap rite now is 2JZ HEAD AN 1JZ BOTTOM END.... Which 1jz have a higher rev than 2jz.. Its call a 1.5jz... As of 2day the fastest stick shift car in PR is a 1jz corolla flip light.... An in the usa its A 2jz

Yo cuz i finally joined (streetrx7) when i come home next year i want to see all the bad cars on stx run, including your FD.....LOL oh before i forget i think the 1.5jz is a 1jz head with a 2jz bottem end, for more torque. Plus i here rotary making a come back. As for the sc300 from what you told me about the car, it might need to be tuned (lean out the mixture a little- you know the deal).
