Why do car makers keep wanting to call 4 doors coupes? So far as I know, if it has four doors it's NOT a coupe. Don't tell that to Mercedes, though. They continue to call their CLS a 4 door coupe...and now BMW joins the game. It's the new X6. We've reported on it before, but today we get the official scoop.

The new vehicle is powered by one of two engines: either a 4.4L V8 outputting 400hp and 450lbft or a 3.0L straight six outputting 300hp and 300lbft. Both are twin/parallel turbocharged with direct injection. A six speed automatic transmission which features a manual shift mode and steering wheel paddles is standard. Once geared up, torque from the engine is then sent through BMW's new intelligent xDrive AWD system, which has the ability to divert torque to either of the rear wheels, besides simply splitting torque F/R. To aid in stability management, the x6 also features dynamic performance and stability control, which is reflected to the driver via on screen gauges.
