New York to Los Angeles in 32hrs. Driving.

That's the current record anyway. 32 hours and 7 minutes to be precise. And there are people out there trying to break it. Only problem is, you have to drive faster than 90 miles per hour. Over all 32 hours.

It's serious business to these guys. They study the weather. They create spreadsheets of known speed traps, 24hr gas stations, and time tables. They map their trip on google earth and cross check it against known construction sites- mile by mile. They fully equip themselves with multiple GPS receivers, CB radios, Police scanners, Thermal vision, Radar detectors & jammers, and more. A lot more. They never stop for a break and take advantage of military technology to turn their urine solid as they drive. It's that insane. Check out the full write up on two people in particular, right here in Wired Magazine.
