Ordered new tires :hs:
Fun fact for the day: Did you know the Mercedes McLaren SLR wears the same class tires (Michelin PS2) as the Chrysler Crossfire SRT6?
It's true. But even if you disregard the difference in tire sizes, the tires aren't exactly the same....they have different speed ratings, wear differences, etc.
That's what I learned when I asked Michelin what was going on with the availability of their PS2 tires- in one size. They really make the same tire for three or four different companies with tiny but significant differences.. instead of just making one tire at one size and being done with it. Eventually (three hours of research later) it's all figured out and I got what I need on order :hsugh:
Anyway the choice was originally between either the Bridgestone RE050A Pole Positions or Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s.... but the PS2s were the only one in the exact size I want (thanks to Mercedes asking Michelin to make them for the SLR :))... but damn they were expensive (thanks to Mercedes asking Michelin to make them for the SLR :()
Apparently the PS2s would be the way to go anyway. A lot of people swear by them...some prefer others... All I know is the PS2s feel a lot better than the original Pilot Sports, so if it's not broken I wont be fixing it...
