saw this last month during a Honda meeting/ townhall that VFR1200 will be there bike to go against the likes of busas and zx14's but thank god they got rid of that crappy V-TEC in the VFR800 very pointless on a bike so is paddle shifters..sorry to say just makes the bike have added weight in a tranny set up it doesn't need...I'm sure it'll be fun but gona take some getting use too Aprilla last year tried to go about the automatic way with there supermoto model but didn't get great reviews on it because idon't think the public is ready for it just yet and the price tag isn't great either..but the technology is there so hats off to honda and aprilla for using the concept will most people get it not likely cool though you can still shift. Thats what makes riding a bike so fun and its alot easier to ride a manual bike than a manual car believe it or not...concept is just reverse for a car and bike hands to clutch feet to gears for bike hand for gears feet to clutch car or automobile I should say....now if your a gamer you know its easier to play COD with your hands than your feet lol!!!

oh personally the behavior between the manual and dual clutch is off..whe nyour doing 3500 - 4000 shifts your gona feel that jerk in the tranny..not likely with say 6000-8000 rpm shifts just to clarify that..this is extremely false in every way possible...put its a great bike for those people to learn on aswell as probably drag race since no longer will you need an air shifter for your bike but clutch must be expensive and tranny repairs must be also..sure the engine is bullet proof most bikes are...eve nwith 5th gear down shift to 1st most bike engines will do it all day..

except that dct really is smoother than single clutch...

again its how u ride it. Sure dual clutch can take more torque and power but I have six clutch's aswell do most other bikes..dual clutch may just be bigger in size 6 plates 6 clutchs..so which also means its probably no longer a wet clutch system but a dry clutch aswell..now that I think bout it.

hmm id say that whether or not a dct can take more torque depends on how its built.
but dual clutch does not mean dual sequential. its a parallel setup.
in the gtr for example, i have 12 friction discs for the gearbox, 6 per 'clutch' in a wet setup.
in a dual clutch setup, power is always being transmitted. depending on how its set, you can adjust the response vs smoothness.. but either way, in a single clutch setup there's always an interruption of power, no matter how fast you shift, so a dual clutch will be smoother...
in the video im assuming they did half throttle upshifts in early/midrange. i think those reflect the smoothness benefits well. in the gtr, if i do 30-50% throttle and upshift at 2500-3000 the shift feels like silk. still though, they could have done a wot demo, and the benefits would have been seen there as well.

great to have 3 alternatives at your command I guess gonna be great for noobies just wish theyhad something smaller so people don't kill themselfs on a 1200 which maybe heavier but is no punk...
