Connectivity Update for Broadband VI People

For some time I've noticed that on Broadband.vi, StreetSeen would sometimes show as being down when in fact it's not. The problem was only on BBVI- sprint, innovative, etc would show SS correctly.

The problem has been traced to a DNS Issue at BBVI. Basically, their servers are forgetting where SS is, or aren't holding records for it. They're working on fixing it.

In the mean time, if you have issues, use this DNS server:
208.84.198.122

If you have any questions on how to do this, let me know. If you notice any other sites you have issues with on BBVI that come up on other ISPs (sprint, innovative, etc) please post. I can't imagine it would only affect StreetSeen, and we might be able to help them figure out whats going on.

BBVI never gave me an issue other than when you have the site down for maintenance..so use that IP address then if you got problems cool

yeah use that IP addres for **DNS**

general procedure on windows machines would be something like:

right click on network connection -> properties -> TCP/IP v4 properties -> Use that DNS Server

that would change the server that your computer uses to locate sites. ive tested it to be working.

BONUS tip = if you have dns problems on playstation network , which ive had before, another free dns server is 4.2.2.1. that works for computers too and ive found that it can help in dns problems in general.
