Any one of those will do you well. Just depends on your budget...... You could always skip those and go with a V8 such as a Mustang :)

personally i would say go with the IX just because of aftermarket support. the 10 is a completely new engine. and it has way too much electronics for me... just my :twocents: and for god sakes dont go with a mustang, sorry DC you should have known i would say it. you are better off with a rotary than a ford:rofl::rofl::rofl:

never driven a 9 or 10 but from what ive been told...
the new X has a better AWD and chassis from the factory vs the 9. a stock X is quicker on tracks than a stock 9. and, despite its setup feels more civilized than the 9 (probably making it easier to drive faster vs the 9 on the street). most stock 9s are faster in a line dragging than the stock Xs.
the 9 also has larger aftermarket support since the platform has been around for a long time.. and whatever you want to do can probably be done
the X has a new twin clutch transmission that i hear is excellent but, because there's also a manual transmission version, im not sure that there is or will be a whole lot of modding R&D on it, so torque output on that would likely be limited on the SST.

Funny as its sounds, I'd advise you to try out the X. Don't get me wrong, I love my 9 and as Tekk says, it is faster in a straight line vs the X, but there is a lot of support for the X already and trust me there will be more. The engine responds well to upgrades and it is overall a better car.
But in the end it all boils down to how much you're willing to spend and how far you planning on taking it. The evo 8/9 is capable of achieving over 1,000 hp (granted you put around 40 to 50 grand into the car) but with the evo X, you may have to wait a little longer for that, if its at all even possible. The evo isn't known for having a bullet proof transmission and the X no different, especially the MR with the SST which doesn't respond well to power upgrades.
Regardless of which you chose, your gonna love it. :shooter:

well thus far the IX has taken the crown away from the X in every way so the 9 must be doing something right....

Welcome to the seen! Your choice in evos' depends on your budget and type of driving you plan on doing. As for the no replacement for displacement quote....92vr4 is correct in MY book. And if the domestic car enthusiast like that saying why do they put blowers and twin turbos on their big diplacement engines.....lol Just drop in a big block.....lol.

No I didn't have it backwards that same shoot out that I had posted on the EVO 9 took top honors vs the EVO 10 yeah the X is getting great support but theres way to much electical behind it to run it and I can tell you drive by wire is a bitch and unless tuned thru EM a Throttle controller is bad news..why cause it requires splicing and thats pretty dangerous if those splices become ripped apart or mangled in some way...plus other than your NOS EVO X which they used for the IMPREZA/LANCER shoot out an EVO 9 did better lap times and all around. Yeah the AWD maybe better but its only better in the relaibility department:dunno:

No I didn't have it backwards...
i dont think you can say that the 9 took the crown from the 10 when the 9 was doing its thing before the 10 was ever made...

^^^ in other words they had two EVO's ^^^^ and both had parts to it yes the X had custom things seeing as there where not any aftermarket things ready for it but still was impressive just didn't do better than the 9 which is why I'm saying even though the X has brand new engine drive train doesn't mean that its a better platform especially not from the way most cars now are economy friendly..the standards keep going up every year and manufactures need to keep up with it...
