King of the Streets. You wanted it. It's coming...

Long story short, cut@burn here on streetseen is the owner of the BMW 135i and is also looking to organize a track night, independent of the CDRA. StreetSeen will help promote, cover and organize the event.

This is an event for the people. So the questions is, what do you guys want?

Two questions in particular that need to be answered are:
1. What's the format? (match/bracket/tournament/etc?)
2. What are the rules?

Regarding the format, we talked about this idea at isles, seems like it could work really well:

Each car gets three runs. The best run counts. Two cars can run side by side, it doesn't matter. After all cars run, the times are compiled, and the best times are listed- with awards given by category: RWD class, AWD class, FWD class. Then, there would be a race for overall king of the street.

Regarding rules, this general idea seems pretty good:


Must be on DOT approved tires, be able to be registered, must have full interior, no restrictions on power adders

The date of the event is very likely going to be Easter weekend.

What do you all think? Any and all ideas/commentaries/feedback/thoughts are welcome. Again, this is about what you guys want...

Well question around the refinery is that most of the mustang or domestics have been told this doesn't include them...if this is the case who ever said this needs an understanding of a street car....but whats the deal with no domestics...or should I say full domestic not half import half domestic.

I was proposing RWD Class, AWD Class, and two or even three classes for FWD’s aspirated with nitro, turbo charged and all motor, I think more Honda’s will participate with it like this….eliminations in each class ¼ mile lights, drives pull names or numbers out the hat and pair-up. All times will be monitored and the fastest time will be announced throughout the event. Each class will have a trophy and a cash prize for the winner, the final 4 or 5 winners for each class will battle for “KING OF THE STREET” also the fasted ¼ time for the day will also get a cash prize and a trophy being crown the “FASTED STREET CAR”. This includes all domestic and imports and as Tek was saying must be on DOT approved tires, be able to be registered, must have full interior, no restrictions on power adders.:ughug:

i would suggest you guys think about it and discuss here... dont hesitate to 'think aloud'...advertising on the event is going to start very soon, so it would be good to have a consensus on how everyone feels by next monday. that way we can work on promoting the event and getting a good turn out... (since we'll have most of the important questions answered)

i think just like how fuel additives are allowed slicks should be allowed too, just my opinion....

yeah i was always under the impression you couldn't go lower than the spring i think maybe the line to the wastegate were hooked up wrong or something cuz with the boost controller set at absolute minimum peaks at 8.6

Well what ever we do the most important thing is we need commitment and support from all regardless of what...! This is an opportunity to show them big car lovers never to forget the streets, we all have to start somewhere. A meeting is definitely need to establish what is a STREET CAR once that is determined there will be no exception to the rule. VIsuki I am not sure where your people are getting their info from but it can be German , French, American , Japanes , you get the picture...as long as it has valid VI registration. Entrance fee TBD..
