Pursuing the Claim of Fastest on the Streets...

As I hear of more interest in the drag race to claim something like 'fastest street car on street tires', it has occurred to me that the claim can't be made unless (1) the claim is clarified (for example: 1/4mi) (2) there's no one claiming to be faster that's willing to race and hasn't already (3) the definition of a street car (or whatever the criteria are) is made clear

Before pursuing the claim, I think it would be good for there to be some sort of agreement as to what the title is, and how its defined.

For example, if the title were "fastest street car on street tires", I would propose:

1. Anyone seeking the title must be willing to race any legitimate competitor for the whatever amount of money the competitor is willing to race for, including $0
2. A street car is defined as anything that can be registered on DOT approved tires and is federally and locally legal and titled and registered at the time of race.


Other thoughts-

1. Unless everyone is OK racing for free, now would be good to set the dollar amount for the races. This should be relatively low because otherwise the title becomes meaningless. For example- Someone told me that if I feel the GT-R is faster than their car, I should patch together $10k to prove it. That might work for me and him if I were interested, but what if I replied to him and said I was faster and if he wanted to prove it, he should bring $20k? At some point it's ridiculous because the competitor(s) may not have the money, and the dollar amount may be set such that the competitor(s) - although legitimate- can't race. I'd say that's against the spirit of the claim that everyone want's a shot at.

2. Everyone should also come to a consensus on if nitrous is permitted, fuel regulations if any, what defines a street tire etc. A car on nitrous and race gas wouldn't likely be able to perform on the street as it would in the race for the title- which may or may not be against the theme of the claim that so many seek. Again this should be decided up front.


And note- The nature of this race, like all racing, is going to benefit some cars and platforms more than others, and no matter what will benefit those with more disposable money. this should be considered if you guys want to minimize that and level the playing field. I will not compete, nor will any of my cars. But, I am willing to help organize racing or help as a moderator for discussion/dispute/etc. Of course, StreetSeen will cover, and the world will witness.

it have cars out there thats pushing from 500hp to 1000hp an with nitro thats full interior street legal on DOT .. I'm going from street class from E-town.... As for power adder's it dont matter,(turbo,nitro,exhaust,fuel pump etc..thats the basic)... As long as its a LEGAL street car meaning reg,insured, street tire's DOT approve... I would also say full interior/seats ....

It won't be for free but it wont be 1000 of dollars... Or it can be an EVENT an at the end the fastest car wins... <<< much better...

Sure Nitto and company sell a tire like this also which I think is a great tread for track course racing and for drag just because of a fuller rubber to road contact patch...these are my next tires also..have heard great things about them.
