standard bikes (upright) are great for touring and the twisties. I think your SV would be considered one also.

looks like a good drive. road looks a little narrow for 2 way traffic but otherwise, very nice

The regular SV650 yea its a Standard bike with the handle bars slightly elevated for a more comfortable feel. But the SV650S like mine, nah, its a crotch rocket to the core. Your leaned forward with 75 percent of your weight to your wrists and your fingers tingle after about 20 minutes of city traffic.

Actually standards are ok for twisties...but its the fact the geometry of an SV is why it handles so good like a street bike...+1 on the hand tingle hahaha my boy rides hard I see!!!!knows what he's talkin bout...trail and rake is a son of a biatch huh? But Iget the hand numbness after about 10 minutes your lucky with your 20 mins. Hey check Chiney see if you can find some with an SV running "Tail of the Dragon"...now thats a road I want to ride at least once 748+ turns...do a google on it.

^^^^^^
"Tail of the Dragon"? Aint that that road somewhere on the east coast that claims the lives of like 30 or so Cyclists every year?????:eek2:
ITs a good thing I'm not heavy and Texas has alot of open roads where you can go 80+ and let the wind hit your chest and take the weight off your wrists.
Do you shift down to Neutral in a light? Or do you keep it in 1st gear incase of approaching danger?
I keep it in neutral and I figure if there is something really big approaching me like a dump truck, I'm laying the bike down and running in a safe direction!!!!!!

^^^+1 I keep it in Neutral just so I don't have constant pressure on the clutch cable..that goes with car and bike yeah I've heard stories of people getting rearended at a stop light on a bike just getting taken out but I'd rather jump off my bike than too try to drive away from danger...yeah going from N to 1st at a stop is freaky cause you hear your tranny click and the bike vibrate a lil but its perfectly normal. Yeah people go down on that road all the time man..they have a Tree there where people hang there broken Bike pieces..and a Web site specially for all the crash's there. I f you can stay upright all the way thru then your doing something right. Cruisers,Supermotos,Sportbikes..even cars hit those roads.

tail of the dragon refers to a 11mi stretch of road near the TN/NC border along US 129 by deals gap. the road has ~318 turns. i am told the quality pavement is good and that it is a lot of fun. however, in 2005 the speed limit was lowered from 55 to 30, and in 07/08 the police presence has been ramped up. if you so much as touch the double yellow line you can be ticketed. it is patrolled every day of the week in unmarked cars. there have been many accidents and what not there but many enthusiasts visit it all the time.
on the s2000 forums, they give you a badge if you've driven the road
